Overview

The Foreigners' Registration Office is the central point of contact for the city administration of Offenbach am Main when it comes to the residence of foreign nationals. The Foreigners' Registration Office advises and supports them and their family members with the aim of clarifying their residence status.

The responsible clerks send appointments (with the necessary documents) to all third-country nationals who are newly registered in Offenbach and/or whose residence permit expires. In principle, you must always make an appointment at the Foreigners' Registration Office.

  • Administrative dispute proceedings

Digital biometric photographs

Since May 1, 2025, only digital biometric photographs are permitted. This applies to applications for electronic residence permits and travel documents for foreigners, refugees and stateless persons.

You can have the required photos taken easily and conveniently at our authority at the "photo terminals".

Alternatively, you can still go to your local photographer. They can also take digital photos and send them to us.

Ukraine residence permit

With the Ukraine Residence Permit Continued Validity Ordinance of 22.10.2025, residence permits for temporary protection that are still valid on 01.02.2026 are automatically extended until 04.03.2027. The residence permits were and are granted in accordance with Section 24 (1) AufenthG for foreigners who entered Germany due to the war in Ukraine. Refugees do NOT have to visit the responsible immigration office for an extension.

Appearances at the Foreigners' Registration Office are only possible by prior appointment. It is not possible to appear without an appointment!
