City of Offenbach sells two plots of land

The City of Offenbach is parting with two plots of land that are now located on Frankfurt city territory as a result of a boundary change. The basis for this is a boundary change agreement from 1999 between Offenbach and Frankfurt. This stipulated that the current city boundary would run along the southern line of the Kaiserleipromenade. As a result, smaller areas were allocated from Offenbach to Frankfurt and have since belonged to the Oberrad district.

The city of Offenbach is now selling this land to the Allgemeiner Almosenkasten Frankfurt, a foundation under public law with a social mission. Together with a piece of land already owned by the foundation, the areas are to be leased to the City of Frankfurt in future and used for the development of a new sports park.

"The Kaiserlei district will also benefit from this development. The sports park will create an additional public sports and leisure facility in the district. Together with the Park am Nordkap, which the city will realize in the eastern Kaiserlei district on its own land directly on the Main, and the idea for the VAIRPLAY sports and cultural park under the Kaiserlei bridge on the 661 freeway, as well as the upgrading of the Goethering, the quality of life in the entire district will improve significantly. Of course, this also makes the location even more attractive for companies," emphasizes Lord Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke and at the same time thanks the City of Frankfurt, in this case the Office for Construction and Real Estate, for the good cooperation.
