Future Prize Großer Frankfurter Bogen: Main prize goes to Offenbach project
25.03.2022 – The city of Offenbach has won the main prize of the GFB Future Prize of the Hessian state initiative "Großer Frankfurter Bogen". Yesterday, State Secretary Jens Deutschendorf presented the prize of 20,000 euros to Head of Building and Planning Paul-Gerhard Weiß for the interim use and further development of the former railroad site at Bismarckstraße 118.
Head of Building and Planning Paul-Gerhard Weiß: "The redesign of Bismarckstrasse 118 has great potential for the development of Offenbach's southern city center. I am all the more delighted about the GFB Future Prize, as this financial support will enable us to organize a series of events around the planned urban development changes. On two weekends in the summer, we will draw attention to the site at the signal box. At the same time, we would like to find the first interested parties for community housing projects - ideally also for the project at Stellwerk, which is currently being prepared by the municipal company GBO. The financial support comes at just the right time for this project. There will be a program of exhibitions, workshops, tours, art and culinary delights at the Stellwerk to enable people to experience the site and its transformation at an early stage."
