Artistic design for the Kurze Straße underpass

Two years ago, the wall on the forecourt of the underpass between Feldstraße and Kurzer Straße was redesigned. Now the railroad embankment crossing has been painted under the expert guidance of Thekra Jaziri. Over the past few days, numerous children and young people have applied bright colors to the carefully whitewashed walls. In doing so, they followed the outlines previously applied by the artist, which continue the design of the forecourt in a meaningful way.

As in 2022, many residents of the neighborhood took part. These included Gabriele Czybik's painting group, which has been meeting regularly at the district office in Herrmannstraße for several years. Together with the nearby kiosk, the district's new neighborhood management also provided necessary refreshments during the breaks.

The creative painting of the underpass thus completes the project to develop a small neighborhood square, which began in 2021 with the redesign of the area on Feldstrasse. The measures, which were implemented as part of the Social Cohesion urban development program, have transformed a previously dull place into a bright and inviting space.
