Mainstraße reopened to traffic

17.11.2025 – After a full road closure lasting around seven weeks, Mainstrasse in Offenbach has been reopened to traffic. The work was even completed three days earlier than planned.

Lord Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke (center), INNO Managing Director Božica Niermann (2nd from right), Alia Begisheva and Sven Donner (both outside), Press Officer and MainChange Project Manager at Samson AG, and Günter Fritsche, Head of Facility Management at BioSpring GmbH.

"I am very pleased and would like to thank everyone involved for the excellent way in which the construction companies and my experts worked hand in hand and kept this construction project perfectly on schedule. I can therefore announce that the closure can be lifted as early as the morning of 14 November," says Lord Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke.

As part of the project, the Innovation Campus was connected to the sewer system and the supply networks in the Mainstrasse area. This was announced by Stadtwerke Offenbach Innovationscampus GmbH & Co. KG. The construction site was also used to lay water pipes for the water supply association in the city and district of Offenbach (ZWO) and empty conduits for Energienetze Offenbach GmbH (ENO) to expand Offenbach's electricity grid.

Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke also visited the district heating transfer station on the Samson AG site.
