Preparatory work for the market square conversion: Investigation of the wastewater pipes
09.01.2018 – Some preliminary work is still necessary before the actual reconstruction of the market square can begin. From Monday, January 15, the sewage pipes in the area of the market square and Bieberer Straße will be examined by camera inspection. This will take around two weeks.
The camera inspection is carried out by a vehicle positioned above the manhole entrances of the sewer on the roadway of Marktplatz or Bieberer Straße. For this purpose, the lane in the area of the access opening will be closed at certain points with a work vehicle or a mobile barrier board. The work is expected to take up to half a day in each case. Traffic will be able to drive around the test site, taking into account oncoming traffic, which will move to the next location once the sewer test has been completed.
For the work to be carried out in Bieberer Straße, it will be necessary to prohibit people from stopping, including in the marked parking bays, for the duration of the inspection so that bus traffic can get past the work site.
As the access openings of the main sewer are located on the carriageway, there will be temporary obstructions to road traffic. The inspection of the sewers will take around two weeks.
