Visions
15.04.2015 – Visions are needed so that Offenbach can confidently go its own and, above all, new ways in the future. Visions about how the city should live and do business in the future. The visions event on April 14, 2015 created open thinking spaces in which the members of the "detail groups" could exchange ideas with experts, entrepreneurs, planners, lateral thinkers and new thinkers and let their thoughts flow.
At the visions event on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 4 p.m., the participants took a first look at the Offenbach of tomorrow. Together, they explored the question of who could live and do business in Offenbach in the future. Who could these people be? What needs, problems and views do they have? And what needs to be done to make Offenbach attractive to these people?
In line with the objectives of the master plan, the visions event was used to provide a fresh perspective on new residents and entrepreneurs in the Offenbach of tomorrow.
Types of residents and entrepreneurs of the future
To this end, the responsible planners from Albert Speer & Partner developed a total of ten types of residents and entrepreneurs who could live or do business in Offenbach in the future. These included the creative young entrepreneur, the patchwork family and the experienced manager of an international company. The 40 or so participants also had the chance to develop their own Offenbachers of tomorrow. Clarify requirements for living space and infrastructure
In a first step, the participants were asked to put themselves in the shoes of the respective individuals and trace their needs, concerns and future prospects. In the second working phase, the participants collected ideas on how these individual needs could be met. For example: What would need to be done to ensure that a young entrepreneur in Offenbach has good starting conditions? Or: What are the housing and infrastructure requirements of a patchwork family in which both parents work?
The feedback collected at the visions event, as well as the information from the online survey and the kick-off event, now form a content-related bridge to the meetings of the detailed groups on the "Housing" and "Economy" fields of action at the end of April. They supplement the existing knowledge about the current housing and economic situation with thoughts about Offenbach's future.
The detailed groups will now condense, discuss and merge these two sides. Because only a mixture of future and current perspectives on Offenbach can produce a master plan that creates a sustainable development framework.
