A new neighborhood park is to be created in the eastern area of the new Quartier 4.0 on the former freight station site in the east of Offenbach. Offenbach residents will be able to help design the area.
The new park is to be created between the disused harbor railway track in the north, the railroad tracks in the south, the Laskabrücke bridge in the east and the new secondary school to be built in the west. The design for the neighborhood park is due to be completed by the end of 2023. Citizens were given the opportunity to participate in advance and help decide how the park can be designed and used. For example, what play and recreational facilities there should be.
On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 5 p.m., interested parties can find out about the current status of planning in the building of the former goods hall in Quartier 4.0. Planners and employees from the Office for Planning and Construction will also be available to answer questions.
The next steps are the implementation planning and awarding of the construction contract, with construction work due to start at the end of 2024.
