Offenbach has a lot to offer...
Project days, excursions, hiking days or other extracurricular activities can become a real experience in Offenbach. Through interactive workshops and exciting guided tours, children and young people can expand their knowledge in a practical way and gain new experiences. These extracurricular activities help to make learning varied and lively, while at the same time promoting social skills and teamwork - and are simply great fun!

School excursion ticket

School classes will once again be able to use local public transport free of charge for excursions in 2026. As in previous years, the Hessian state government is providing the school excursion ticket for all schools (primary and lower secondary level).

The ticket allows the entire class, including the teacher and one other accompanying person (e.g. a parent), to use public transport free of charge.


Museums

House of City History

The museum offers various workshops and tailored tours for groups from daycare centers and schools, for example interactive city tours, Offenbach International - Welcome to Arrival City or on Offenbach's industrial history.


Klingspor Museum

Workshops for nurseries, elementary school and secondary schools on topics such as reading sessions followed by painting or handicrafts, special books and fonts, "Animal alphabets", "Printed nature" or "Writing and its effect", "Poster!" and "Letters, signs and scribbles".


German Leather Museum

Guided tours and workshops for nurseries, elementary school and lower secondary schools

The guided tours focus on selected content of the exhibitions so that children can engage with the stories behind the museum objects at eye level.

In subsequent workshops you can experiment with different materials and techniques and create your own designs.

Workshops for daycare centers (from 4 years) and schools (1st to 5th grade)

The weather and climate workshop offers exciting workshops in which weather and climate are examined in a playful and creative way.


Offenbach Weather Park

Guided tours and workshops for school classes and workshops for teachers

The weather park guides take children aged 7 to 15 on an exciting tour of the weather park to explain how weather phenomena occur. The workshops deal with topics such as urban climate, climate and climate change, research tours or weather measurement and weather observation.

Teachers and educators learn how to make weather tangible and develop methods for communicating meteorology in the classroom in a professional and targeted manner.


Office for the Environment, Energy and Climate Protection

Environmental education offers for kindergarten and school

The Office for the Environment, Energy and Climate Protection has collected various materials that bring children closer to the topic of the environment. There are also climate rallies, mobility days, tasty lessons on climate and nutrition and excursions to the green classroom.

School projects for school classes, groups from daycare centers and kindergartens
The morning projects are each dedicated to a specific topic and are led by our experienced educational staff. The projects are tailored to the individual needs of the participants in consultation with the group beforehand.

Team training for school classes
In team training elements, there are special tasks that can only be solved together as a team. The tasks are set in such a way that, in addition to the physical experience, all participants can engage in a cognitive examination of themselves and the class community. For the training elements, focal points and suitable tasks can be selected.

Whether native wild animals or exotic creatures from all over the world: daycare centers and school classes can get to know, pet and sometimes even feed the friendly inhabitants of the forest zoo. And each animal has its own story to tell.


Beekeepers' Association - Teaching apiary Offenbach

Take a look over the shoulder of an experienced beekeeper!
Visit us with a kindergarten group or school class.

Various guided tours are offered in the educational apiary from the beginning of April to the end of July.

Climbing is fun and strengthens the class community as a shared experience. Or consider the visit as an excursion in biology, physics and sport all in one - after all, you are in the middle of the forest, experiencing acceleration and gravity, fear and happiness.

Climbing as a school sport is becoming increasingly popular. In addition to athletic performance (dexterity, coordination, strength and endurance), it also promotes social skills such as a sense of responsibility and trust. Pupils can develop their skills by overcoming their fears and consciously dealing with risks.

The Offenbach Adult Education Center's self-learning center is an ideal place for independent and individual learning. Here, school classes and kindergarten groups can get to know and try out age-appropriate, computer-based self-learning programs. Our experienced learning advisors are on hand to offer comprehensive support and guidance.

Media floor

The media floor designs demand-oriented offers for projects/days and courses for school classes in the areas of film and photography, 3D printers, programmable robots and controllers, cutting plotters or apps and programs for video editing, image processing, 3D design and simple programming interfaces.


Open Channel Media Project Center (MOK)

Study seminars for trainee teachers

Whether in daycare centers, schools or in an extracurricular setting - practice-oriented project work is fun and makes for a successful change from everyday life. Media education project work can take place both in local institutions and at the MOK as an extracurricular learning venue. For example, an animated film can be produced on a media education day in the daycare center or experiments can be carried out with a blue or green box.

Media literacy is the ability to understand media, use it sensibly and assess its risks. Medienanstalt Hessen offers a wide range of projects designed to help children and young people in particular to become fit in their use of electronic media. It also offers a range of training courses for teachers and educators.

Digital Retro Park

Guided tours in the museum for digital culture

The Digital Retro Park e.V. is a museum for digital culture. All age groups can experience the history of computer technology in a playful way. Our approach is to impart knowledge through fun and games. Above all, we want to give schools the opportunity to make their IT lessons more vivid. The exhibits can be touched and, above all, used. We want to make history and technology tangible in the literal sense. We strive to work closely with educational institutions and schools in order to be able to adapt our offer to their needs in the best possible way.

Youth Art School (JuKu)

Special offers and workshops for daycare centers and schools
Further training for teachers and educational professionals

In addition to the regular range of courses, JuKu also offers special courses for daycare centers, schools, youth centers and other institutions. On request, projects can be carried out on site or at the JuKu. This could be a workshop for children and young people or further training for teachers.


Music school

Music programs and projects for daycare centers and schools

The aim is to introduce as many children as possible to music in an age-appropriate way, as this is the best way to promote creativity, memory, language, fine motor skills and, last but not least, the child's entire personality.


Theater studio 14H

Educational theater offers, theater projects, TUSCH (Theater und Schule) and FLUX - Verein zur Förderung der Zusammenarbeit von Theatern und Schulen in Hessen e.V. (Association for the Promotion of Cooperation between Theaters and Schools in Hesse).

In cooperation with FLUX, multi-day theater projects on various topics can also be applied for and carried out after approval. One possibility would be, for example, a course in which the children build small stage sets, develop their own play based on a fairy tale of their choice and present it to a selected audience at the end of the theater course.


ELMAR Theater Club

Theater AGs for schools and theater courses

Pupils learn the basics of theater in a playful way. Particular emphasis is placed on increasing the pupils' self-confidence and taking away their fear of speaking in front of an audience. They then present what they have learned to their classmates and parents at the end of the school year.

Further offers

Children's University

Pupils (3rd to 6th grade) practice studying: The Children's University at Goethe University Frankfurt takes place every year in September. Each day, a "lecture" is held in the lecture hall on a different topic. In the mornings, participation is reserved for school classes. Registration is required.


I can do it! - The master class

The association Anfängergeist e.V. offers various workshop modules that help to reduce stress and improve attention. They are aimed at schools and teachers as well as children and young people. Yves Steininger's "Master Class"™ is designed as a skills training program for school classes and lasts one school semester. After a pilot phase at Edith-Stein-Schule, the project was successfully implemented at Geschwister-Scholl-Schule, IGS Lindenfels and Schillerschule from November 2022 to May 2023.


M+E info truck

Information truck of the metal and electrical industry for grades 8-10 at secondary schools.

Across Germany, a total of ten M+E info trucks provide free information at schools and public institutions about training and career opportunities in the metal and electrical industry. The info trucks offer space for an entire school class, which can be accompanied by their teachers.

Using the latest multimedia applications and illustrative experiment stations, pupils can learn about technical interrelationships at typical M+E workstations. For example, they can produce a workpiece themselves on a CNC milling machine, program an elevator control system or create circuits with an "electricity bench". Up to six visitors can interactively explore a virtual company at the same time using a multi-touch table.

The use is free of charge for the schools. The vehicles come directly to the school and are available during lesson time.


InnoTruck (BMBF)

Schools can look forward to a journey of discovery from research, technology and applications to job profiles and hands-on activities on STEM topics. Pupils can slip into the role of researchers themselves through various experiments. The practical experiments are designed to illustrate the importance of technical innovations for everyday life and to inspire enthusiasm for scientific progress.

There are special guided tours and workshops for pupils, teachers and parents. The professions behind the innovations will also be presented.

A visit to the InnoTruck is free of charge.
