Childcare and all-day services at public elementary school in the city of Offenbach - current situation and demand (2019)
Since the 1990s, elementary school in the city of Offenbach have established all-day and childcare services. This has resulted in a diverse range of offers: The 15 public elementary school are divided into two tied, five partially tied and eight open all-day schools. In addition to an overview of the forms of all-day work, this report presents the results of a parent survey on childcare needs (school year 2018/19). The summary of the results leads to a description of fields of action for local education policy. The appendix contains a school-specific presentation of the various childcare/all-day offers.
Absenteeism survey 2017
In the 2011/12 school year, the youth welfare planning department carried out an absenteeism survey for the first time at Offenbach's secondary schools. The grammar schools were excluded. Based on the results, the city's youth welfare department designed preventative measures. The follow-up survey in the 2016/17 school year was carried out by the Education Coordination and Counselling department at the Offenbach Adult Education Center together with the youth welfare service. The aim of the survey was to obtain and analyze current data on absenteeism and to compare the results with the first survey from 2012.
The data from 3,590 pupils was evaluated. That is a response rate of 93.8 percent.
Brief report: Educational transitions (2014)
As part of the federal "Local Learning" program, educational transitions throughout the life course are a central topic, design and field of action. This short report informs the Offenbach specialist public about current data and correlations at two educational transitions: from nursery to elementary school and from elementary school to secondary school. In addition to the relevant educational data, this report also contains a summary of the most important results of the survey of daycare centers and elementary school in Offenbach on transition design and cooperation practices. Furthermore, this short report provides information on measures taken by the advisory board "Cooperation agreement on the interface between elementary education and elementary school" and the "Working group on the transition from Year 4 to Year 5".
Brief report: Continuing education (2013)
This short report summarizes the key results of the 2011 survey of continuing education providers in Offenbach and the findings of the Hessian Continuing Education Report. The survey in Offenbach was carried out in cooperation with the German Institute for Adult Education - Leibniz Center for Lifelong Learning (DIE) in 2011.
The intention was to record the active providers in Offenbach and thus the continuing education sector, to make the diversity of provision in Offenbach visible and to identify possible focal points and gaps in provision. This was the first time that data on continuing education in Offenbach - offers and providers - had been systematically compiled.
Brief report: School education (2012)
In addition to the presentation of structural data, the short report focuses on school qualifications, which represent an important switch point for life and employment biographies. New insights are provided by the new analysis of which types of schools are particularly popular with pupils with and without a migration background in Offenbach in the 2011/12 school year. Another new feature is the comparison of Offenbach's school-leaving qualifications with those of other major Hessian cities. It was published by the municipal project "Lernen vor Ort" and the State Education Authority for the district of Offenbach and the city of Offenbach am Main and developed by Lernen vor Ort.
