Orientation framework for educational development in Offenbach am Main - 1st update
Challenges and opportunities for potential-oriented promotion
How can education in Offenbach continue to succeed in the future? What challenges are there - and what opportunities? These are the questions addressed in the 1st update of the orientation framework for educational development in Offenbach am Main. It describes how the city would like to further develop its educational landscape - from early childhood education to school and the transition to work through to further education in adulthood.
In 2022, the city council decided to review and update the previous orientation framework from 2012. Since then, many stakeholders from Offenbach's educational landscape have been involved: Experts from educational institutions, representatives of the city, academia and citizens. Experiences, ideas and suggestions have been gathered in interviews, working groups, an education conference and a public participation process.
The result is the 1st update of the orientation framework. It shows the challenges facing education in Offenbach today - such as the shortage of skilled workers, digitalization, inclusion and a diverse and growing urban society. At the same time, it highlights Offenbach's potential: a young population, many multilingual skills and a strong network of educational stakeholders.
The updated orientation framework provides orientation, concrete options for action and a common basis for educational development in the coming years. It will be reviewed again in five years.
