Mathildenschule successful in European competition
25.07.2023 – One of the oldest school competitions is the European Competition. Offenbach's Mathildenschule took part again this year and was particularly successful. The pupils won a total of seven national prizes, 33 state prizes and seven recognition prizes for their creative artwork on the topic of "Inclusion and Diversity". The theme of the competition, which took place for the 70th time this year, was "European equals colorful".
On Tuesday, July 18, the state award ceremony took place at the Mathildenschule in Offenbach. Paul-Gerhard Weiß, head of the school department and member of the board of the Europa Union Offenbach, presented the pupils with certificates, book vouchers and OF-loves-you gym bags. "I am delighted with the successful participation of the Mathilden pupils. With the large number of prizes won, Mathildenschule is one of the most successful schools in Germany," emphasized Weiß.
The state award ceremony and art exhibition of the European competition was accompanied musically by the Mathilden School band under the direction of music teacher Domenico Visciani and music teacher Svitlana Manko. Councillor Paul Gerhard Weiß and the deputy principal of the Mathildenschule, Saliha Dahab, praised the pupils and thanked the teacher Nafsika Niku-Hamm for her pedagogical and artistic commitment. "We would like to congratulate our students and are already looking forward to more creative moments and successes in the next round of the competition. Special thanks are due to Mr. Weiß and the Europa Union Offenbach, who have been supporting the Mathildenschule for many years with great energy, tirelessly and extremely generously," concluded Deputy Headmistress Saliha Dahab.
