City acquires municipal property for use by Bieber Waldhof elementary school

12.02.2025

The City of Offenbach is acquiring a property on Schutzbaumstrasse from the Evangelical Regional Association of Frankfurt and Offenbach in March 2025. The property is to be used and upgraded for all-day care at Bieber Waldhof elementary school. "The property is particularly suitable as the community center is directly adjacent to the schoolyard of the elementary school. It therefore offers us an extension with little intervention to cover the increased space requirements. Pupils would not have to leave the property in the future to change buildings and can safely take part in everyday school life," says Paul-Gerhard Weiß, Head of Planning and Education. The basis for the acquisition of the property is a magistrate's resolution from 2024.

The Office for Planning and Building is currently working on a utilization concept together with those responsible.

The property in question is around 1610 square meters in size. An existing tenancy there should be able to continue even if primary school care is expanded, as should the current use of the garage. Back in 2021, the Bieber Protestant parish decided to concentrate its activities on the site on Aschaffenburger Straße with house numbers 52 to 56, which is why the site on Schutzbaumstraße was sold to the town.
