Schools
Offenbach is a city of diversity - this is also reflected in the school landscape: from elementary school to secondary schools and secondary modern schools with special needs to grammar schools, from special schools to private schools and vocational schools, children and young people are accompanied and supported on their personal life and educational path.
Aspects such as integration and equal opportunities are an elementary part of the educational mission, which is why there are numerous additional support programs. Language is the key to understanding, which is why children with a migration background in particular are already receiving appropriate support in the city's daycare centers.
In 2007, the City of Offenbach launched a comprehensive school construction and renovation program and is pushing ahead with the expansion of all-day schooling. This makes it easier for employees to combine work and family life and provides children with a migrant background with better language support. There are now all-day options in a wide variety of forms at all 24 general education schools in the city, which are being used by more and more pupils. Around 385 million euros are to be invested in modern and contemporary education by 2025.
