City builds on education
The city of Offenbach am Main has been continuously investing in modern school and daycare buildings since 2007. The reason for this is the increase in the number of children and the goal of creating optimal learning conditions for future generations. With pro rata support from the federal and state governments, over 409 million euros have already been invested in the construction and renovation of schools and daycare centers since 2007.

Current status
Today, over 60% of the approximately 18,800 pupils can already study in completely new or fully renovated school buildings. A further 15 percent attend facilities where partial renovations have been completed and 5 percent attend schools that are currently being renovated or extended. Measures at schools amounting to around 265 million euros are currently being planned and under construction.

City invests in daycare centers
Current status
The city is well advanced with its new construction and renovation programme for daycare centres and almost all municipal childcare facilities have been modernized.
Offenbach has a total of 24 municipal daycare centers for children under the age of 6, currently with around 2,300 children. Of these, 81 percent are currently in new or completely renovated daycare centers. 11 percent attend partially renovated facilities and only 8 percent attend unrenovated daycare centers.
