Support for sport and culture
28.12.2022
The city of Offenbach is supporting various areas of life with an economic stimulus package. An economic stimulus package is a collection of many different measures. All measures together are intended to strengthen the economic situation. This is particularly important now.
Because the cost of energy is particularly high at the moment. Prices have also risen more than normal in other areas. The economic stimulus package contains one million euros.
The money is for: Clubs in the areas of sport, migration and culture, stores, gastronomy (places where people cook for people) and the weekly market.
Counseling centers will also receive money. Politicians say that the high prices are caused by the war in Ukraine.
The prices are so high that many people can no longer afford them. This means that many areas of public life have to close. Nobody wants that. That's why the politicians want to do everything they can to prevent it.
The one million euros for 2023 will be distributed as follows: 100,000 euros for sports clubs. Applications must be submitted to the Sports Office.
100,000 euros for cultural associations and places where people can experience culture. Applications must be submitted to the Cultural Management Office, 40,000 euros are available for immigrant associations. Information on how to apply can be found on the city's website.
560,000 euros are available for stores, restaurants and the weekly market. Vouchers can be purchased from the Offenbacher Stadt-Marketing-Gesellschaft (OSG). For Offenbach stores and restaurants. Anyone who buys a voucher receives an additional amount as a gift from the city. Stamp cards are available for the weekly market. For every purchase of five euros or more, you get a stamp on your stamp card. When the stamp card is full, it can be exchanged for a 5-euro voucher at the OSG. The voucher is for Offenbach stores and restaurants.
200,000 euros are available for self-help services. Especially for counseling services that help people with little money. For example, a Caritas advice service will receive financial support. They explain how to save energy. The Caritas and Diakonie life counseling services are also receiving money from the economic stimulus package. And the job office, which advises older people on how to earn a little extra on top of their pension.
