Important partners for the city

There are many different associations and communities in the city of Offenbach. Some of them were founded by people with a history of migration. People have a history of migration if they themselves or their parents or grandparents come from another country.

These associations and communities are important partners for the city when it comes to living together and arriving in Offenbach. Since 2007, there has been a working group called the "Integration Competence Team". The working group consists of associations of people with a history of migration, religious communities, politics and administration. The working group meets once or twice a year and discusses important issues in Offenbach. In the past, for example, the topics have included education, employment, health, childcare, learning German and vaccination against coronavirus.

The "Integration Competence Team" met for the 29th time on May 24, 2022. The meeting focused on refugees from Ukraine. Many people are fleeing Ukraine because there is war there. It was explained how many people have come to Offenbach from Ukraine. And how the refugees can register in Offenbach.

The "Offenbach Hilft" website was then presented. The website provides information about arriving and living in Offenbach. It says: How can I stay in Germany? How can I find an apartment? How can I apply for financial benefits?

There are also many people in Offenbach who want to help with the arrival of refugees. They want to donate clothes or money or help as translators. These and other questions are answered on the website.

The policy says: Arriving in Offenbach doesn't just mean having an apartment. Arriving also means taking part and shaping life in Offenbach together. That's why a joint exchange is necessary for a good life together.
