New child day care staff receive certificates

People who look after children at home during the day are known as child day carers. They are also called day mothers or day fathers. Many families would like their children to be looked after in this way.

Offenbach now has 11 new childminders. They have completed a course at the adult education center and passed an exam. What you learn and the exam are the same throughout Germany. The so-called Bundes-Verband Kinder-Tages-Pflege regulates this further training. It works together with the Volkshochschule Offenbach.

The Volkshochschule Offenbach organizes the courses for the youth welfare office. It has been offering these courses for many years.

In the courses, participants learn a lot about childcare.

In May, there was a celebration for the new child day care workers. They received their certificates. Birgit Gehl from the adult education center, Bernd Hormuth from the youth welfare office and teacher Edeltraud Amira presented the certificates.

Now the new child day care workers can look after children.
