Shopping and meeting place: markets in Offenbach
29.03.2025
There are always weekly markets on certain days of the week. You can buy food from the region and from other countries there. For example, fresh vegetables from the farmer, bread from the baker or flowers from the gardener. Weekly markets are also a good meeting place for people. You can shop with your family and meet neighbors and friends.
Offenbach's weekly market is held on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays on Wilhelms-Platz in the city center. In winter it is open from 8 am to 2 pm, from April 1 from 7 am to 2 pm. It is one of the nicest weekly markets in the area. Farmers from the region sell their food. There are also products from all over the world, for example from Italy, Greece and Turkey. In spring and summer, many people meet at the weekly market. After shopping, they drink coffee together or get something to eat. The cafés and restaurants on Wilhelms-Platz are a great place to watch life at the weekly market.
In the Bieber district of Offenbach, there is now a small market on Ostend-Platz every Thursday. From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., you can find bread and cakes, fruit and vegetables, olives and sausages at the afternoon market. There is also a butcher where you can buy grilled sausages.
There is also a small market in the Nordend part of the city. It is held every Thursday from 3 to 8 pm on Goethe-Platz. There are lots of foods there that are homemade by the vendors. For example, cheese, sausage and bread. You can also find a farmer from the region here.
