Innovation Campus Offenbach

A new location for companies and modern technologies is being created in the east of Offenbach: the Offenbach Innovation Campus. At the Innovation Campus, people are developing new ideas for working in the future. Innovation means "making something new" or "progress". Companies and research are to work together on the campus.
There used to be large chemical factories on the site. It is 36 hectares in size - that's the size of about 50 soccer pitches. The site is the largest area for new companies and businesses within a city in the Rhine-Main region. This large site stood empty for a long time. Now construction is underway again.
Two large companies will be moving onto the campus: Samson AG and BioSpring. Samson AG manufactures technical valves. BioSpring produces active ingredients for medicines. Both companies are world market leaders in their field. This means they are very successful worldwide. Samson AG has been building a new building with offices and halls on the site since 2024. Samson plans to move in at the end of 2026. There will be space for many more companies on the Innovation Campus.
A design park is also planned. Science and business will work together on new ideas there.
Sustainability is very important on the Innovation Campus. Sustainability means: good for the environment and for the future. The city wants to plant lots of trees. A district heating network is located directly on the campus. District heating is hot water that comes from nearby. It can be used for heating without producing much CO₂.
CO₂ is a gas. It is produced when heating and driving. Too much CO₂ is bad for the climate. Samson AG is helping to save CO₂. The company wants to generate electricity with photovoltaics. Photovoltaics means: electricity from sunlight. It also wants to use energy storage. Energy storage stores electricity for later.
The project is very important for Offenbach. After many years, large industrial companies are once again coming to the city. The companies create many new jobs and pay taxes to the city. The city of Offenbach has higher revenues as a result.
