Many take part in the cleanliness week
15.11.2025
The Cleanliness Week campaign was held in Offenbach for the first time at the end of September. It was a great success: more than 300 people took part. They collected garbage alone or in groups and cleaned streets, parks and playgrounds. Most of the garbage was cigarette butts, packaging and plastic bottles. Larger items were also collected, such as bicycle tires and car parts.
The campaign was organized by the "Clean Offenbach" staff unit. The Stabs-Stelle is a department that takes care of cleanliness. It is part of the Public Order Office of the City of Offenbach. District offices, private groups and companies also took part. Offenbach's Head of Public Order, Paul-Gerhard Weiß, would like to thank all the volunteers. A department head is responsible for certain offices and topics in the city administration. For example, for cleanliness, building and housing.
Cleanliness Week now takes place every year in September. Like the Offenbach spring clean-up in March, it has been around for a long time.
If you don't collect garbage yourself, you can still help to keep Offenbach clean. There is an app that you can use to report illegal bulky waste in the city. The app is called Mängel-Melder and is a program for cell phones. The app can be downloaded from the website www.offenbach.de/maengelmelder. The city then knows where the garbage is and can clear it away quickly.
All citizens can also carry out their own campaigns for a clean Offenbach. They can choose their own day and place to collect garbage. The date can be registered on the website www.offenbach.de/cleanup. It will then be published on the website and other people can help. Or: You can join a group that has already registered a date. Because cleaning up the city together is twice as much fun.
