City of Offenbach spends a lot of money on daycare centers and schools

Learning is important. It starts with the very youngest children in daycare centers. Daycare centers are also needed so that parents can go to work. All children have the right to go to a daycare center and later to school. A good school-leaving certificate is important. Young people can then do an apprenticeship or go to university. And later find a good job. The city of Offenbach knows that education is important. That's why it spends most of its money on daycare centers and schools. That's called investing.

There are over 30 schools and almost 90 daycare centers in Offenbach. Many schools are too small. Because the city is growing: new families have moved to Offenbach in recent years. There are more children going to daycare or school. Many school buildings are also old. The city needs to renovate them. This means repairing old and broken things or replacing them with new ones. This could be a floor, electricity or gas pipes. Sometimes new buildings also have to be built to make room for more children.

The city of Offenbach invested a lot of money again in 2024. For example: A daycare center and a school were built on Willi-Bauer-Straße in the Bieber Nord district. The elementary school has space for 300 pupils. There is also a school playground with new play equipment. The daycare center has space for 124 children. The Geschwister Scholl School in the Bieber district has been given a new building. The children will be taught here until the old building has been renovated.

The Schiller School in the Nordend district will soon be getting another building. This has to be renovated first. A new primary school building for 125 children has been built at the IGS Lindenfeld. At the Humboldt School in the Musikerviertel district, 420 primary school pupils have been able to move into a new building. The school has also received new playground equipment.
