AzubiConnect project brings young people and companies together

The City of Offenbach's Youth Welfare Office has a department called "school-to-work transition management". This department helps young people with the transition from school to work. In other words, it supports young people who have finished school or are about to finish.
Many young people want to do an apprenticeship after school. In an apprenticeship, they learn a profession. For example, cook or nurse. An apprenticeship usually lasts three years. Part of the training is at a school. The school is called a vocational school. The other part is in a company.
The department has the "AzubiConnect" project. Connect is an English word and means to connect. The project connects young people and companies in Offenbach and helps them to find a training place. For example, there are counseling sessions and information on the topic of training. Young people can also practise writing job applications in groups. This group takes place from Monday to Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. There is also information about companies offering apprenticeships. The offer is free of charge.
The project also helps companies with vacant training places. The companies receive tips on how they can better reach young people. For example, via social media or by visiting schools.
The aim of AzubiConnect is to fill vacant training places in Offenbach.
