Pilot project: A wheelchair is now available in the citizens' office
09.10.2023
People with walking disabilities can now borrow a wheelchair at the reception desk of the Citizens' Advice Bureau to make it easier for them to get around the office. The new service can also be used by customers of the Citizens' Office who have an acute and unforeseeable need for mobility support. This could be an attack of weakness or acute pain and dizziness. The wheelchair can only be used in the Citizens' Office during opening hours.
In cooperation with the company ORATHO GmbH, the Citizens' Office of the City of Offenbach, the Disability Advisory Council and the municipal representative for the interests of people with disabilities, Dominik Schuster, have launched the pilot project "Testing a wheelchair loan service in the Citizens' Office". The company ORATHO GmbH is providing a wheelchair free of charge and has instructed the reception team in the citizens' office on how to use it safely.
The service is to be tested by the end of the year. It will then be determined whether there is a need for such mobility support and whether the service should be extended to other public-intensive areas of the city administration. The wheelchair can be easily borrowed at the reception desk of the citizens' office.
