25th service anniversary of Thomas Schuster

Thomas Schuster, customer advisor at the Offenbach Citizens' Office, is celebrating his 25th anniversary of service. The trained electrician joined the Offenbach city police as a career changer at the start of the millennium. He was "part of the squad" there for eight years and remembers with a smile a mini-parade similar to the Love Parade, which he accompanied as part of an operation. He once held an umbrella for a mayor when he inaugurated a bollard and was part of the security team when a bomb was found in the Main.

He joined the citizens' office in 2010. He has been an all-rounder there for many years, can be deployed in all specialist areas and has been training junior staff and career changers himself for years. He is particularly proud of his last trainee, whom he qualified and supported in preparing for her exams. She passed her exam with top marks. Another colleague, a career changer like himself, whom he trained years ago, is now a manager in another citizens' office.

Schuster has many well-known Offenbach residents sitting in front of him from time to time. Even a minister or former mayor need a new ID card or have another request. Naturally, he keeps quiet about the details. Data protection. But he does reveal one highlight: years ago, he had the then new city treasurer Peter Freier at his side for a day when he spent time in the citizens' office to get to know the citizens' office, which falls within his area of responsibility.

His colleagues value him as an expert in all licensing matters, but also because of his uncomplicated and pragmatic manner.
