Social welfare office extends opening hours in the new year

05.01.2026

Because the previous consultation service has been so well used, the social welfare office in Offenbach is extending the opening hours of the central advice and service point (ZeBuSS for short) by another day. From January 2026, it will also be open on Monday mornings. This means that citizens will be able to visit the social welfare office in person three days a week.

"With the extended opening hours at ZeBuSS, we want to be even more accessible for people in Offenbach who are looking for support from the social welfare office," explains Social Welfare Office Manager Oliver Beckmann.

In addition, the Social Welfare Office already offers many options on the City of Offenbach's website at www.offenbach.de (search term: Sozialamt) for making contact online, such as completing applications, making inquiries and submitting notifications or documents digitally.

"We are very pleased when people make use of digital contact with us," says Oliver Beckmann. "However, our target group in particular often finds this difficult and is very grateful for the opportunity to speak to us in person."

"Good accessibility of our administration, especially for older people seeking help in Offenbach, is particularly important to me," emphasizes City Treasurer and Head of Social Affairs Martin Wilhelm. "I am delighted that the social welfare office has been able to organize another opening day despite the tight staffing situation there."

From January 2026, the ZeBuSS of the Social Welfare Office will be open for personal consultations on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
