"Smart Living Hessen Cluster" conference meeting took place in Offenbach town hall

29.03.2022 – The participants of the "Smart Living Hessen Cluster" recently met at Offenbach Town Hall for a joint discussion. The term "smart living" stands for an "intelligent home". Modern technologies enable intelligent control of all electronic devices.

For example, "smart" heating systems can detect the absence of their occupants and adjust the heating output accordingly, which contributes significantly to energy optimization. The aim of the Smart Living Hessen Cluster is to bring the topic of "intelligent homes" closer to the public and to support the development of a smart living mass market.

Various questions arise when considering smart living: How will people live together "smartly" in the future? How are homes, neighborhoods and the world around them connected? The answers to these questions were discussed intensively at the conference meeting of the "Smart Living Hessen Cluster" in Offenbach Town Hall. The cluster consists of several working groups with representatives from well-known Hessian companies from the field of home automation, among others. Project manager Professor Dr. Thomas Heimer from Rhein-Main University of Applied Sciences took part in a guided tour of the Offenbach districts and the innovation campus with the participation of Stadtwerke Offenbach. Professor Heimer was delighted with the possibilities for implementing "smart living" in Offenbach's neighborhoods.

Anne Schwarz from the Stabsstelle Digitalization, who attended the cluster meeting on behalf of the city, particularly emphasized the advantages of regional cooperation: "Here, large and established companies from Hesse are sitting around the table together with researchers to talk about the technology of the future. Innovation doesn't just come from Silicon Valley, but can also be actively promoted with forward thinking and networking, as we do here in Offenbach."
