Important note on payment transactions of the City of Offenbach am Main

From October 5, 2025, banks and payment service providers will be obliged to carry out a so-called Verification of Payee (VoP) for transfers. This involves checking whether the specified name of the payee matches the IBAN.

For incoming payments to the City of Offenbach am Main, therefore, only the name "Stadt Offenbach am Main" is to be used as the account holder. Additions such as official designations or numbers can lead to payments being rejected and delayed. However, the name "Stadtverwaltung Offenbach am Main" will also continue to be accepted at Sparkasse Offenbach.
