The topic of "dying and death" affects us all, yet we find it difficult to come to terms with the subject. We encounter death every day when we hear news about wars, natural disasters, train crashes and accidents. But this death is far away, it doesn't concern us. It is different when a family member, a friend or even we ourselves are affected. Be it due to a serious illness, a sudden accident or old age.
Palliative and hospice care
Palliative care is required for people with serious illnesses for which a cure is impossible. The focus is on maintaining and creating the best possible quality of life. This requires human care, pain relief and end-of-life care. There are various palliative and hospice services in Offenbach that support seriously ill people and their relatives.
Offers for surviving dependents
For the bereaved, dealing with the loss of a loved one is paramount. Everyone deals with grief differently, but the path to accepting the final separation is long and difficult for everyone. Talking to people who have experienced the same thing can help them to cope with their grief. The association "Treffpunkt Friedhof" organizes discussion groups, also especially for children, in which mourners can exchange ideas.
Association Treffpunkt Friedhof Offenbach
The association Treffpunkt Friedhof Offenbach was founded in 2012 with the aim of making the cemetery a place of encounter.
"Treffpunkt Friedhof" offers events to deal with this topic. Mourners can exchange ideas in discussion groups.
There is also a bereavement group for children, which is supervised by professional bereavement counselors from the Mühlheim Hospice Association.
The open group for children between the ages of 4 and 12 takes place every 14 days and lasts up to two hours. It runs without a time limit at the "Treffpunkt Marktstraße 44".

Cemeteries: places of peace and tranquillity
Cemeteries are places of peace and reflection. They help relatives to overcome grief. They are also places of retreat in the hectic everyday life of a city and give us space to reflect.
