FzOF informs: Second rickshaw for Offenbach is a reality

The volunteer center's rickshaw has been on the road in Offenbach for around 18 months. A group of almost 20 volunteer pilots use the electric vehicle to offer excursions for senior citizens with limited mobility. It was already clear in spring that the team was ready for a second rickshaw, as the demand for trips is increasing.

The volunteer center therefore took part in a VR Bank Dreieich-Offenbach crowdfunding project. The aim was to raise a total of 5,000 euros through small and large donations, with VR Bank contributing 5 euros per donation. After 90 days, the target was more than achieved: more than 250 donors were generous, raising EUR 7,510, of which VR Bank contributed EUR 1,250.

Managing Director Sigrid Jacob is delighted with the huge response. And also about the fact that the opportunity arose at the same time to purchase an almost new, used rickshaw from the association 'Mit Demenz Leben e.V.' from Darmstadt. "The donations will be enough to run a second rickshaw through Offenbach - before the end of the year!"
Around 14,000 euros would have been needed for a new electric rickshaw, and the crowdfunding project was intended as a first milestone in the procurement process.

As a thank you, the volunteer center is raffling off three rickshaw rides among the donors. The winners will be notified by email.
