With rising temperatures and sunny spring days, the pilots of the Offenbach rickshaw team are out and about again. As part of the global "Cycling without Age" movement, the 15 or so volunteers provide rides for senior citizens with limited mobility. According to a fixed schedule, various senior citizens' facilities are visited and rickshaw rides are offered. Trips in private surroundings can also be planned.
The volunteer center has been offering this service since June 2022 - initially with one rickshaw and since 2024 with two vehicles. These have already brought a smile to the faces of many passengers. The pilots really enjoy the enthusiasm of their guests and the interaction with them. The care staff in the retirement homes and relatives are also full of praise, as a trip in a rickshaw is a welcome change for everyone involved.
