Help options for citizens

It makes sense to only donate the items for which the respective organizations are appealing. At the moment, for example, hardly any clothing donations are needed, people have no way of transporting the donations on the run and the clothes are already piling up at the border. The items should be new or in good or cleaned condition. It is also helpful to check the reliability of organizations that call for donations in kind or money.

The Offenbach food bank is always happy to receive food donations, as it has not only been supporting people in need for years, but is also currently providing food to refugees.

Offenbach residents can now register accommodation for refugees from Ukraine via the OFlovesU 'Raumfinder' platform. The accommodation should be available on a long-term basis.
In addition to the size of the apartment or room, those offering accommodation are also asked, for example, about the number of people who can be accommodated, whether they would like to rent the accommodation, whether they speak Ukrainian or at least English and whether pets can also be accommodated.

In contrast to the other Room Finder offers, this information is not public, but only visible to GBO Gemeinnützige Baugesellschaft. However, the building society only acts as an intermediary. Any rental payments cannot be processed through it, but are made directly to the providers.

The platform was created in cooperation between the City of Offenbach, Stadtwerke Offenbach and its company GBO Gemeinnützige Baugesellschaft Offenbach mbh and Loimi Brautmann from the Urban Media Project agency.
