The practice-integrated remunerated training (PivA) as an educator (m/f/d)

The practice-integrated training to become an educator (m/f/d) is a dual form of training in which theoretical and practical content are interlinked right from the start.

Learning in the interplay of theory and practice

The practice-integrated training to become an educator (m/f/d) is a dual form of training in which theoretical and practical content are interlinked right from the start.

In the first two years of training, lessons take place at the vocational school for social work three days a week. On the remaining two days, the trainees gain practical experience in a childcare facility. In the third year of training, the focus shifts - with two days of school and three days of practical experience per week.

An integrated block internship also provides an insight into working with a different age group and thus expands the range of educational experience.

The duration of training is usually three years. The structure can vary depending on the technical college - some trainees stay in one facility for the entire time, while others may change.

The training is based on a full-time training contract. This means that

Vacation time must be applied for and taken regularly.
During the school vacations, trainees generally work at the facility five days a week.

Remuneration according to TvAöD:

  • 1st year of training: € 1,340
  • 2nd year of training: € 1,402
  • 3rd year of training: € 1,503
