Individual approach and offers
Our educational work is geared towards supporting the children in an age-appropriate way, picking up on the children's topics and working on them. In doing so, we maintain a balance between a guiding and observing role. We give the children a framework for their activities and offer possibilities without prescribing solutions. Social interaction and a focus on values is also an important part of our pedagogy. We want to maintain and patiently develop the joy of research and experimentation. Activities, offers and projects in the groups, areas or the whole house are part of our daily structure and our annual planning.
We promote the children's own activity by letting them become active themselves. This gives each child the opportunity to explore and develop various topics in their own group as well as throughout the house.
We work according to an open room concept in the after-school care center. The rooms are divided into functional rooms. We also support the schoolchildren in their educational processes and take care to find a balance between allowing freedom and setting boundaries.
Regular offers
A singing circle takes place twice a week in the hallway, led by the educational staff. We make sure that singing, movement and finger plays/rhymes are alternately adapted to the children's needs and that the annual cycle is taught. We support the children in exploring their living environment and the neighborhood.
This includes visiting nearby destinations and using public transport, also in order to achieve road safety. We record important experiences and special moments during the daycare period in pictures and text and collect these in each child's portfolio.
Family café
There is a family café in the entrance area for families during the settling-in period. This can be used to get to know each other and exchange ideas, but also to obtain further information about everyday kindergarten life. A pedagogical specialist is available to parents in the café to answer any questions they may have and to establish a basis of trust.
The daycare center Johann-Strauß-Weg (08) is one of the municipal daycare centers (EKO-Kita). The Eigenbetrieb Kindertagesstätten Offenbach (EKO) works according to theH essische Bildungs- und Erziehungsplan (BEP) and an in-house concept, which reflects the self-image of the company and basic pedagogical attitudes. On this basis, our facilities design their own in-house concept, each with its own focus.
The EKO lives a prejudice-conscious, appreciative welcoming culture. Everyone is welcome here! We give every child individual educational and development opportunities and want to be a place where diversity and democracy are lived.
Our work is shaped in dialog with the children and their families. All employees take responsibility for an active educational partnership as well as for their own pedagogical work. Accordingly, qualification, further education and training in various areas is an essential part of our work.
