Arnoldstraße daycare center (07)

The Kita Arnoldstraße is an after-school care center that works together with the Uhlandschule. The children have the opportunity to do their homework with us from Monday to Thursday from 14:00 to 16:00. During this time, the colleagues are available to the children as contact persons and help them to work independently, i.e. we strengthen them in their decisions, encourage them again and again to solve everyday problems, homework and conflicts independently and to implement creative play ideas. We provide support and incentives where necessary. We attach particular importance to social interaction and the communication of values.

During the settling-in phase, the children are given orientation so that they can organize their day at the after-school care centre independently. They can explore the after-school areas and functional rooms and get to know their classmates. We work according to an open room concept with functional rooms (e.g. workshop, dressing-up room, chill room and creative room) and fixed core groups. Each group has its own designated teacher.

On Mondays, we have a children's kiosk, which is run very independently by the children and where they can buy sweets. The kiosk idea was developed with the children as part of a project and has been implemented with great pleasure and success for many years. On Wednesdays, we offer a fixed activity time and use the Uhland School gym during the vacations. Together with the children, we develop a varied and diverse vacation program. This includes excursions and many other activities and projects (such as the cooking week), in which the children are involved in everything from planning and shopping to preparing lunch. A visit to the city library is also part of the vacation program. Books are available to the children in our group rooms on a daily basis.
