Introducing our daycare center

"Help me to do it myself."

Individual approach and offers

At the Goethestraße daycare center (15), 80 children between the ages of 3 and 6 can be cared for in four core groups. There are currently three core groups. The children have access to a total of nine rooms with different focuses (art, construction, role play, games, theater, games, math, media and perception rooms) as well as the outdoor area. Our daycare center sees itself as a place of education and development where children are perceived and valued in their uniqueness. Each child has individual abilities, interests and their own pace of learning. We accompany the children attentively on their individual path, practise language education integrated into everyday life and create an environment that promotes independence, curiosity and personal responsibility.

Our educational work focuses on supporting children's independence and self-efficacy. Child-centered and inclusive development support is important to us. The children are encouraged to complete tasks independently, make decisions and take responsibility for their actions. We give them the time and space they need to develop according to their level of education and development. We also attach great importance to a pleasant atmosphere in the house and fair and social interaction.

MarteMeo" is used in the daycare center in consultation with the parents/guardians. This is a video-based interaction analysis that focuses on successful everyday situations between the professionals and the children. It is a resource-oriented developmental support method that focuses exclusively on strengths. Successful interactions promote the quality of interaction - a key factor in supporting people.

Regular offers

The activities for the children are geared towards the children's interests and life situations as well as the course of the year. The form of implementation (individual activities, cross-group small group work or as a complete daycare center) as well as the time dimension (individual appointments, longer-term projects, multiple appointments) vary depending on the offer and its objective. Every year, the children who will be starting school the following summer are explicitly prepared for this change in a small group.

Through a prepared environment as well as a clear daily structure, transparent rules and loving support, we create a framework in which children can find their bearings and feel safe. This helps them to grow into self-confident, competent and social people. This also requires good coordination and cooperation with the families. The team strives for an educational partnership with the parents/guardians that is characterized by mutual respect and appreciation. Door-to-door talks and regular development discussions are held with the parents/guardians. There are also parents' evenings, excursions and celebrations in which the family is actively involved.

Familiarization

New children are usually acclimatized in a peer group (small group). Experience has shown that children with similar developmental tasks - in this case the separation from the family - support each other with empathetic support. Together, the step into daycare is often easier. And yet the settling-in process remains child- and family-oriented, as the starting points of the children and families are different. This form of admission also promotes contact between parents and guardians and with the daycare center team.

Learning together

As a place of training, we also see ourselves as a learning environment for future educational professionals. We combine theory and practice and promote a reflective, appreciative attitude towards children. Our facility is a place of shared learning - for children and adults alike.

The team regularly takes part in training and further education and has access to a variety of advisory systems provided by the organization (e.g. practical and specialist advice). In principle, we see our facility as a meeting place for all people. Visitors and family members are always welcome.

Our daycare center also sees itself as an active part of the local community and works together with other institutions in the Nordend district (e.g. elementary school, advice centers, clubs).

The Goethestraße daycare center (15) is one of the municipal daycare centers (EKO-Kita). The Eigenbetrieb Kindertagesstätten Offenbach (EKO) works according to the Hessian Education and Upbringing Plan (BEP) and an in-house concept, which reflects the self-image of the company and basic pedagogical attitudes. On this basis, our facilities design their own in-house concept, each with its own focus.

The EKO lives a prejudice-conscious, appreciative welcoming culture. Everyone is welcome here! We give every child individual educational and development opportunities and want to be a place where diversity and democracy are lived.

Our work is shaped in dialog with the children and their families. All employees take responsibility for an active educational partnership as well as for their own pedagogical work. Accordingly, qualification, further education and training in various areas is an essential part of our work.
