Daycare center Bleichstraße (22)

The Bleichstraße daycare center (22) is a facility with four all-day classes at the Eichendorff School. As a rule, the children remain in one class for the entire duration of primary school. There is currently one all-day class (GTK) in each year group, which is led by a pedagogical team consisting of two educators and one teacher from the school.

Our common goal is to provide children with more individual support and differentiated learning opportunities. We therefore organize an educational day for the children in close cooperation with the school, which is designed to be varied through different forms of learning and learning opportunities. Through intensive, all-day relationship work, the all-day classes strengthen the children's social skills. This not only creates bonding and trust, but also provides security and structure to the day.

As soon as school starts, the children in Year 1 have a settling-in period for the first two weeks, which is discussed with their parents. During this time, the children do not have to stay until 4 p.m. as is usually the case, but can also be picked up directly after school or after lunch by individual arrangement with the parents. In the all-day class, the day begins with the school's morning service from 07:30 to 08:30. The children then have lessons from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a lunch break with a balanced meal. Learning time then begins. During this time and throughout the afternoon, we introduce the children to independent, self-directed learning.

As we are familiar with the content of the school lessons, we pick these up with the children in the afternoon and expand on them in a different way. We work together with the teachers in the primary school class so that we can also support and challenge the children in small groups in a very differentiated and targeted manner.

After the daily learning times, the children find a balance in our functional rooms such as the construction room, role play room, studio or in the outdoor area / courtyard, which offers them both movement and relaxation opportunities. The nature of our inviting rooms gives our children security and orientation, provides a sense of security and promotes both individual creativity and a sense of community. During the vacations, teachers and children draw up vacation plans together with various activities and excursions such as museum visits and theater performances.

We receive important information about the children from the families during the admission interviews, which supports our work. Families also have the opportunity to ask questions in one-to-one meetings and thus find out more about our work with their children. Regular development meetings are a matter of course for us.
