Introducing our daycare center

"Children will not become viable if we remove all obstacles from their path."

Individual approach and offers

In the crèche and kindergarten, we work in fixed reference groups and offer cross-group activities. The after-school care center works in functional rooms according to an open concept with a district orientation. Our children can transfer within the building from the crèche to the kindergarten and then to the after-school care center. A "smooth transition" awaits the children through reciprocal visits to the other areas. The crèche and kindergarten children are looked after together in the kindergarten in the morning. This provides great support for the crèche children who are transferring to the kindergarten, as they can already get to know the people and rooms. We create a portfolio for all children, in which important steps in the child's development during the time they spend with us are recorded. As a rule, development meetings are held once a year for the families in all three areas, in the after-school care center also in the presence of the child.

Family area

There is a family corner on the first floor where families can find up-to-date information and gain an insight into our educational work.

Regular offers

As our daycare center does not have an outdoor area, we offer regular excursions and numerous walks, such as to the Dreieichpark. We also use our numerous exercise rooms to run around and play. In the crèche and Kinderarten, there are daily activities in the exercise room.

Every week, we organize a group-wide singing circle, where the children can also get to know and try out instruments.

In kindergarten, we work on a project-oriented basis and across groups, such as in the preschool project or the "We explore Offenbach" project. The kindergarten children visit the children's and youth farm once a week. We also have access to the TVO club gym once a week. There is plenty of space for movement and running games, and special sports equipment can be used. In all three areas, children's literature is available to our nursery, kindergarten and after-school care children and is actively used in everyday educational activities.

Once a week, a cooking and baking group takes place in the after-school care center, which has already resulted in a cookbook. Every year, the after-school and all-day classes from Offenbach organize a soccer tournament in which we enthusiastically participate. The vacation program is arranged together with the after-school children. These can be excursions to museums or the skater park in Frankfurt or to playgrounds in Offenbach.

The Berliner Straße daycare center (26) is one of the municipal daycare centers (EKO-Kita). The Eigenbetrieb Kindertagesstätten Offenbach (EKO) works according to the Hessian Education and Upbringing Plan (BEP) and an in-house concept, which reflects the self-image of the company and basic pedagogical attitudes. On this basis, our facilities design their own in-house concept, each with its own focus.

The EKO lives a prejudice-conscious, appreciative welcoming culture. Everyone is welcome here! We provide every child with individual educational and development opportunities and aim to be a place where diversity and democracy are lived.

Our work is shaped in dialog with the children and their families. All employees take responsibility for an active educational partnership as well as for their own pedagogical work. Accordingly, qualification, further education and training in various areas is an essential part of our work.
