Kita Mathildenstraße (04) celebrated its 20th anniversary with a big summer party, together with all the staff and the children of the facility and their families. Since 2005, the Mathildenstraße daycare center has been one of 29 municipal daycare centers run by the "Eigenbetrieb Kindertagesstätten Offenbach" (EKO) and now offers space for the care and supervision of 150 children of kindergarten age, i.e. between 3 and 6 years.

Sabine Groß, Mayor of the City of Offenbach, was also invited to the celebrations at the daycare center in the middle of the Mathildenviertel. She warmly congratulated the daycare team and praised the daycare center's wide range of activities, which benefit all the children there. She was impressed by the fact that there is a trainee at the daycare center who went there herself as a young child, which must speak volumes for the facility. "I am happy about every daycare center in Offenbach and would like to encourage everyone to consider training as a specialist in a daycare center, especially in times of a shortage of specialists," Sabine Groß finally appealed to the approximately 200 people who attended the ceremony.

The daycare center management team Nicole Geist and Wendel Burkhardt, together with their team and the families and children who attend the facility, had put together a number of activities to make this day so special: from face painting and animal balloons to a children's choir and piano concert to a generous buffet with salads, fruit, cake and much more. There was also a museum tour with photos and videos from the last 20 years to marvel at in one room of the daycare center. And in the spirit of language development, a memory game was offered in which the players had to connect sounds with each other. Last but not least, the Mathildenschule, which is located opposite the daycare center, was also involved and offered a number of activities on the school grounds and also performed enthusiastically with its school band on the daycare center grounds.
