Child day care: parents and child day carers receive tailored information
07.01.2025
Daycare is an important pillar of childcare alongside crèches. Parents like the family atmosphere of this form of care and childminders appreciate the independent work. In order to provide both target groups with tailored information, the specialist child day care service at the Youth Welfare Office has completely revised its website.
At www.offenbach.de/kindert agespflege, there are now target group-specific introductions for families, childminders and those who want to become childminders. Parents can gain an initial insight into child day care and can find out about the framework conditions and financial support at their leisure. Childminders can find out about laws, insurance, qualifications and finances. And anyone interested in working in child day care can find out more about the job description and how to become a child day care worker in the city of Offenbach.
"We have a good range of daycare places in Offenbach. Together with the crèche places for under-threes, our city can currently meet the demand for childcare places for this age group," explains Mayor Sabine Groß. "This is crucial so that parents can return to work early."
Deputy Head of the Youth Welfare Office Bernd Hormuth emphasizes that personal advice is still available: "The website offers an initial introduction so that families and childminders can find out more at their leisure. But of course, our specialist service staff are also available for personal discussions."
The specialist childcare service has three employees who provide specialist educational advice. Parents can turn to them if they are still unsure whether childcare is the right option for their child. The employees also provide support in the search for a childcare place, but also when the child is placed in daycare and questions arise, for example about settling in or the transition to a daycare center. Childminders and those interested in the job can also receive advice on any technical questions relating to childminding, such as settling in and child development or recognition of further training. For everything to do with registration, deregistration, closing times, sick notes and financial support, there is an administration department with two employees at the specialist child day care service.
