Award for "outstanding achievements for cohesion and integration in the diverse city of Offenbach"
In 2020, the city decided to rename the previous title to 'Award for outstanding achievements for cohesion and integration in a city characterized by diversity' The changed title is intended to make it clear that integration is no longer seen as something that foreign people in the city have to achieve or as something that is done for them. Rather, many years of integration work have led to the realization that integration is a process that encompasses both immigrants and the host society. Above all, it is about fostering democratic coexistence in our city, which is characterized by diversity. The prize has been advertised with the new dedication since fall 2020 and was awarded for the first time in 2021. The deadline for submitting proposals is October 31 of each year. The prize is endowed with prize money of 1,000 euros.
