Hesse-wide networking meeting of the WIR diversity centers

27.10.2025 – Last week, a Hesse-wide networking meeting was held for the WIR coordinators who are working on the "Diversity-oriented opening" focus as part of the WIR program.

The meetings take place regularly in different municipalities in Hesse and are organized by the Hessian Ministry of Labour, Integration, Youth and Social Affairs as the funding body. The aim is for the municipalities to share their experiences, challenges and good approaches in the area of integration. The aim is to learn from each other and work together towards a non-discriminatory, inclusive society.

The central theme of this year's meeting in Wetzlar was a workshop held by the Anne Frank Educational Centre on the topic of "Understanding, recognizing and naming anti-Semitism". In addition, the state of Hesse provided an initial insight into the municipal integration monitoring system, which will be published in 2026 and will for the first time be expanded to include municipal data, facts, figures and relevant indicators in the local communities.

At the next meeting at the end of October, the WIR coordinators will come together to focus on "Welcome and Recognition Culture".
