Recently, the old football field goals on the Annastrasse / Emmastrasse square were replaced with new goals with basketball tops. The results of the City of Offenbach's many participation formats for redesigning and planning new play areas have confirmed the existing impression that football pitches should be used for more than just soccer. The new combination goals promise a more varied range of games and enhance the football pitch for sports-loving children and young people from the district. The top layer of the football pitch was also leveled during the installation of the goals.
"The football pitch is an important meeting place, especially for the younger generation. With the new goals, we are not only offering a contemporary playing environment, but also promoting a sense of community and sporting activity. They are a building block in the renovation and further development of pure football pitches into multifunctional pitches," says Paul-Gerhard Weiß, the head of the planning and construction department.
The goals with the basket attachment were carefully selected to meet the needs of the players and at the same time ensure durable and safe equipment. The multifunctional court has been reopened and all young athletes can now try out the new goals and streetball baskets.
