Evangelical Redeemer Parish
The Evangelical Redeemer Parish - the smallest parish in the Offenbach Evangelical Church Association - is located in the Waldheim district of Offenbach. Between 1953 and 1957, the mother congregation - the Rumpenheim castle congregation - became pregnant with it and the Erlösergemeinde has been independent since 1957.
The "Rote Warte" Mühlheim district, which directly adjoins Waldheim, has been part of the Erlösergemeinde from the very beginning. It is the only cross-community parish in the Protestant district of Offenbach.
In the year it was founded, the growth figures were still optimistic: 3,000 people were to be part of it one day. It never came to that. At that time, five to six people lived in the houses in Offenbach's leafy east. But the middle generation found it too cramped in the small houses and moved to the surrounding area.
The church building itself is located on the edge of the landscape conservation area and is a modern, ecologically and functionally consciously planned building made of wood and glass with a bell tower that cannot be overlooked, variable in size, with a kindergarten next to it and its own youth center. There are group activities for all age groups throughout the week: from senior dance and gymnastics, coffee and yoga, to a cooking group, trombone choir, flute circle, visiting service and the teens club for young people.
It is therefore the only cross-community church in the Protestant district of Offenbach.
Sunday is the center of life: depending on the occasion, 40 to 200 people of all generations meet here for worship.
Opening hours of the church office: Thursday 2-4 p.m.
