City of Offenbach

Bus trips to historic towns in the region

02.04.2026

The city of Offenbach is once again offering bus tours to historic cities this year. The tour guides Anita Kremer and Monika Krämer have planned a total of four interesting tours. They will guide participants through old alleyways to important buildings and tell the stories behind the walls. If you want to delve deeper into history without having to travel far, the half-day tours are just the thing for you.

The tour starts on Saturday, June 13. Anita Kremer will take her guests to the Wetterau region. There she will provide lots of information about monastic life. Visits include Engelthal Monastery near Altenstadt, the church in Ilbenstadt and the former Konradsdorf Monastery. In addition to the ticket price, there is a two euro entrance fee for this trip. Two weeks later, on June 27, Koblenz is the next destination with the Deutsches Eck and a detour to the banks of the Rhine. Participants will find out what the equestrian monument is all about from Anita Kremer, who will also guide her guests through the old town alleyways and historic squares in Koblenz. Those who wish can also visit Ehrenbreitstein Fortress on their own using the cable car. However, admission fees must be paid on site.

Monika Krämer will take her guests to Marburg on Saturday, July 11. The university town was shaped by personalities such as Bettina von Arnim, the Brothers Grimm and Nobel Prize winner Emil von Behring. Participants will go on a tour to the Elisabeth Church, through the old town with the historic town hall on the market square and finally to the more than 700 carefully restored half-timbered houses. The fourth and final tour of the year leads to Wetzlar. Monika Krämer will be exploring the historic old town on foot on Saturday, September 19. The Charlotte Buff can also be visited.
