Full houses at the "Museum for All!" campaign day

24.02.2026

Museums have a lot more to offer than just exhibits behind glass - this was impressively demonstrated by the Offenbach "Museum for All!" action day last Saturday. From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., numerous visitors of all ages took part in free workshops and guided tours at the Haus der Stadtgeschichte, Klingspor Museum, SCAPE° and Deutsches Ledermuseum. The guided tours were offered in all four museum experience locations in simple language and with translation into German sign language and were very well received. The brochure designed by Studio Pari-Pari provided information about the various activities in a clear design, large font and simple language.

In addition to its interactive exhibition, the German Leather Museum offered the opportunity to make key rings and bags out of leather. In remembrance of the time when not only leather goods but also soap was produced on a large scale in Offenbach, visitors to the Haus der Stadtgeschichte were able to make their own fragrant bars of soap using simple means. The Klingspor Museum's current children's book exhibition included books to feel. In the workshop area, the public could transform feelings into their own book using a paintbrush and pen. In Offenbach's Science Center SCAPE°, guests not only tried out the numerous models and activity areas on the topics of weather and climate, but also engaged in collaborative upcycling: small, colorful squares were woven from recycled wool as souvenirs. They also embroidered a tablecloth together. The participants in the museum workshops were of course allowed to take their creations home with them.

The "Museum for All!" day of action is organized by the four Offenbach museums and the city's Department of Cultural Management in cooperation with the Social Welfare Office. It took place for the third time in 2026. The next experience day is planned for February 2027.
