It's hot in Offenbach - so it's all the more important to drink regularly. In Offenbach, it is even possible to drink tap water due to the quality of the water. "From now on, citizens can fill their own drinking containers with tap water free of charge at the Weather and Climate Workshop in the middle of Offenbach's city center," says Lord Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke. A sticker on the door indicates this possibility.

The Climate and Weather Workshop, which deals with climate change and aims to educate people about what each and every individual can do to protect the environment, is the ideal place to work with the "Refill Germany" initiative. "Filling tap water into containers that you bring with you means buying fewer bottles and thus actively helping to avoid plastic waste and wasting resources," says Mayor Schwenke, emphasizing why the offer makes so much ecological sense. It is also important to him that it is an ecological measure that also has a social impact.

Britt Baumann from the Office for Cultural Management adds: "The Refill initiative rightly emphasizes that from an ecological point of view, it is of course clear that if fewer plastic bottles are thrown away, there is also no need for transport and CO2 emissions during transport."

Mayor Schwenke concludes: "Climate change is also visible on our doorstep, in Offenbach. Environmentally friendly behavior starts on a small scale. Together, we can achieve a lot - and we're not pointing a finger here, but with a very concrete offer."

The tap water can be tapped during the opening hours of the Weather and Climate Workshop: Tuesday to Friday from 2pm to 7pm and Saturday from 11am to 6pm.
