Sun station

At the "Sun" station, visitors can feel the temperature differences on nice days, for example when they touch the matt black painted surface of the information board with the white text or the gray concrete slab beneath it and compare their sensations with those after coming into contact with the surrounding meadow.

The time can be precisely determined at the station using a sundial. It always shows summer time, which is due to the higher number of visitors in the spring and summer months. The information board depicts the sun as the engine of weather events and compares, for example, the daily amount of energy that the sun supplies to the earth with the annual energy consumption of mankind or with the electricity consumption of a single-family home. The comparison can be used as an introduction to the topic of "climate change" or "renewable energies".

In addition to natural climate change, the effects of human energy consumption should also be examined. Other topics on the information board include the energy balance in the Earth's radiation budget, the components of sunlight and temperature as a meteorological variable.
