Theater studio Bleichstraße 14H
The Bleichstraße 14H e.V. project in Offenbach am Main was founded in 1991 as a studio community of various freelance artists. Over the years, the former rehearsal room developed into a public performance venue and is now a theater studio measuring over 100 square meters that can accommodate up to 90 guests.
In addition to the studios of artists Hans-Jürgen Herrmann and Andreas Masche, the Fabriketage also houses a rehearsal and theater space for the acting ensemble Ulrike Happel, Dieter Kögel and Sabine Scholz.
Since 1999, the Theateratelier has offered a regular program in spring and autumn with guest and in-house productions for children and adults.
The Offenbach Department of Culture runs the "Theaterdonnerstag" series of events here with puppet theater for small audiences and evening events.
The annual "Children's Theater Days" are also an integral part of Offenbach's theater landscape.
The performances to mark the anniversary of Offenbach's designation as a major city were particularly well received. This took place in 1954 and made Offenbach the youngest city in Hesse. In 1994, the play in the former Kramp factory was called "Hurra! We are a big city". The founding of the city was depicted in a self-ironic way. Striking places in Offenbach were presented, such as the market and Büsingpark. This, together with a combination of pantomime, choral singing and screen projections, was a great success. The artistic work of the Bleichstraße 14 H project was honored by the City of Offenbach in 1999 with the Cultural Prize for the Performing Arts.
For the 50th anniversary of the city, the Bleichstraße team staged "Das Wüste lebt!" (The Desert Lives!) with several extras and a band in the old EVO locksmith's shop. The play, directed by Jürg Schlachter from Switzerland, told the satirical story of the retired Ödmann couple. The Ödmanns set off on a hectic foray through Offenbach in search of Mrs. Natascha, their Russian "boarder".
Meanwhile, Offenbach was on the verge of losing its status as a major city. Once again, the scenery was accompanied by video animations, music and a dynamic backdrop. In the wake of the public's enthusiasm, the sequel "Ödmanns Out Of Offenbach" was created.
In addition to regular events, the Theateratelier can also be booked for celebrations with a varied program. The Theateratelier is also available as a rehearsal room.
