City of Offenbach

"Hidden View - In Transit. Places, art, relics, traces and history"

"Hidden View - In Transit. Places, art, relics, traces and history"

This volume of images and texts is the continuation of last year's art and history project "Hidden View". In summer 2016, Hidden View transformed Offenbach's city center into a place for art. Twelve international artists developed site-specific works for the public space that deliberately draw attention to the hidden and inconspicuous aspects of the city and its history. Installations, sculptures and performances at six selected locations reflected the transitory changes in the urban environment and sharpened the eye for Offenbach's quiet peculiarities. The list of participating artists reads prominently: sculptor and professor Thomas Rentmeister, California-based Luka Fineisen and performance and action artist Marc Aschenbrenner were all part of Hidden View.

The publication is published by Henrich Editionen Verlag and will be available in bookstores throughout Germany from September 11th for €19.00.
